For example, apart from similar subjects (cars + human form), the explicitness and exaggeration you employed caused the client to withdraw (i.e., rejection). When Ballard circulated his explicit and exaggerated draft, he received the comment "this author is beyond psychiatric help. Do not publish" (best rejection ever). Another parallel is the use of sexual and corporal themes to explore the effects of powerfully sexualized technology. Pretty cool.
